Peta de Jager served as Principal Investigator for most of the Cooperative Award Agreement, following the untimely passing of Dr Sidney Parsons. This involved exercising intellectual and technical leadership to the grant award programme. Peta identified and articulated programme objectives and ensured activities support these goals, provided technical oversight and oversaw programme quality. Peta pursued progressive improvement and human capacitation, mobilised primary research group, partners and sub-contractors to achieve quality and to deliver identified outputs.
With her team, Peta liaised with high-level officials in the Department to ensure coordination and support to NDoH, provincial departments of Health, PEPFAR partners and other stakeholders were aligned with national policy and priorities.
Peta de Jager was also primary client liaison and responsible to ensure necessary reports/documentation are submitted to the CDC.
